This project involved the development of a milk processing plant for the Kathonzweni Dairy Cooperative in Makueni County. Commissioned by the Makueni County Government in collaboration with the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), the project included the design and development of several key facilities necessary for the plant’s operations. These comprised the main milk processing plant, generator houses, administration offices, utility areas, and workshops.
Renaissance Africa Consult Ltd provided comprehensive multidisciplinary consultancy services for the project, including architectural design, structural engineering, quantity surveying, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering. Bosko Engineering Ltd participated as an associated consultant for a period of twelve months.
The project team was led by Architect Gideon Ngumbau, who served as the Project Manager and Team Leader. He was responsible for overall project leadership, coordination of site meetings, and supervision of site inspections. The professional team also included a Project Manager, Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Electrical Engineer, Civil/Structural Engineer, and Mechanical Engineer.
The project was completed and prepared for handover on 15th February 2019.
